<![CDATA[Used oil disposal]]>How do you guys dispose of your used motor oil? We have a nice 5 gallon metal drum that has a spout for pouring it out with a handle and another opening for a funnel to pour it in but you can only do about 4 oil changes before the damn thing is full again. 😞

both the place I work and the place I usually change my oil have tanks that are atleast 250 gallon.. the one might be closer to 500. Same deal though, they come pump it out.

I think that we have to take it up every 2 or 3 months. I may look into a 10 gallon drum or even a 30 with some sort of pump on it.

]]>https://fargostreet.com/post/153119https://fargostreet.com/post/153119Mon, 09 Apr 2007 16:15:28 GMT<![CDATA[Reply to Used oil disposal on Sun, 08 Apr 2007 22:00:53 GMT]]>its great if you have the room and go through enough oil to need the 55 gallon drums. biggest problem you run into afterwords is the enormous weight of the drum when it is full. if you dont need more than a 5 gallon once a year, then you shouldn't have too much of a problem. if you need more, then consider a 10 gallon, or just another 5 gallon one. 55 is a lot for just the average consumer. majority of places take it, and my buddies shop out in west fargo actually has 2 1000 gallon storage tanks along with the 500+ one for the oil burner he uses during the winter.
