Misinformation...

The check will go into your bank account if you deposit it, hell you might even have access to the money for awhile. Then the bank will see it is a fake/forgery and withdraw all that money from your account. The scam works on the idea that you'll cash the check, see that it was deposited and think it was legit, then send them another couple hundred/thousand dollars to cover whatever they say needs to be sent back. You send them money, they get the money, and then your account gets re-set to the pre-deposit amount when the bank sees the check was fake and you're SOL.

If I were you, I'd toy with them. Tell them to send you the money, cash it and watch it go in and then come out within a week, and then when they send the person to pick it up tell the delivery guy to go fuck himself if he's not with a known company like DHL/UPS/FedEX then beat the shit out of him.

Watch catch me if you can. People still send forged checks and money orders. I read a story recently about a guy who got a forged money order but didn't know it and put the money in the bank and kept it there for a while just in case and the bank withdrew the funds because of the fraudulent MO.
