Any thoughts?

So apparently 14.38 is a pretty piss poor time for a DSM. I knew it was slow but I didn't think it was that serious. Well people, THIS IS SERIOUS. So serious in fact that I felt compelled to start a new thread instead of shitting up another one.

So, any thoughts?

I DO have a slow 1g dsm. I blame part of it on not being able to avoid the waterbox, and the other part on my shitty tune. What I have to tune my fuel and timing is an eeprom ecu, MMCD on an ancient palm, and a strech of road I know its really rough right now but it doesnt knock or pull timing too bad. I'm not sure what else could be wrong with it. Shouldn't be boost leak, I've tested and fixed those (unless more crept in).

My drivetrain looks like this: emmisions removed, aircan hacked w/ k&N filter, 1g MAF w/ honeycombs still intact, stock intake, 14b turbo w/ MBC set at 17psi no spike, stock intercooler cleaned, stock bov, tb elbow smoothed, stock block/head, exhaust manifold runners smoothed, ported exhaust side of turbo and wastegate area, big wastegate flapper (dont remember what size), 2.5 apex'i DP, spun steel cat, 3in catback w/ magnaflow muffler, fuel is stock injectors, 3000gt fuel pump, eeprom ecu.

I'll be out this weekend to give it another shot, maybe you all can give me some pointers on what I can do.

BTW who all lives in amber valley, I see a ton of nice cars out there, I'm sure you've seen the green machine out front by amber crossing.

Sorry, I consider fuel upgrades and a tuning device "not stock." Granted yea that's a great time for a car with such little mods, especially a 14b. But you bring up a new argument now about a 2g not being able to hit 10s? What did Brent Rau run again? 6.94 at 198.47, pretty sure that was a 2g. 2g's are only about 300lbs more than 1gs, but yes your correct in the fact that they are heavier. You make it out that 2g's are horrible compaired to 1gs. Neither car has a great tranny, especially when the car makes good power. Yes 2gs are more prone to crankwalk, but that doesn't mean a 6bolt can't. And just to prove I've done some research a 1g dsm runs 15.3 stock and a 2g runs 14.9 stock.

Again, I'm not trying to be a prick at all, I was just really blown away with the fact that a "stock" 1g ran a 12.1 1/4. But after realizing he was on 110, and has other fuel upgrades it makes somewhat more sense.
