They use cdma technology in their phones. So does Verizon. What I want to know is if a Verizon based cdma phone can be used with my carrier? If you don't know, don't respond please.</p>

If the phone is locked to verizon, then you are SOL, if not then you are good.  In my experience most phones that you get from verizon, that have the verizon logos and verizon software are locked to verizon unless you reflash them with the generic firmware from the manufacturer.  it is easy enough to go on ebay and find an unlocked phone that is not set to a carrier.</p>

So some verizon phones will work and some won't. You will have to take the phone to a Unicel store and see if they can program it to work.</p>
