TATOO CARVING!! on Tue, 11 Sep 2007 07:48:56 GMT

I went to high school with britney, shes a cool girl. I usually have chuck do my piercings, but he wasnt in that day and my buddy lukas was like blah blah blah addictions is so cool blah, I guess since he only has a couple of 12 ga lobes I would assume they are fully capable of that. Maybe it was an off day but lowbrets aren't exactly an advanced piercing and it was botched pretty badly. I mean I can take some pain but I gotta say that session was needlessly brutal. Instead of one smooth motion it was first a poke to cut into the inner lip, then another motion to get through the meat, and then a looong strech and a twist to pop out the other side, leaving big skin tags, a very messy job. My other labret which was actually in a thicker area, and done by chuck, was quick and didn't bleed. It felt like a bamboo skewer from walmart being shoved through my face instead of a razor sharp surgical needle. Not to mention I had to take them out anyway because the swelling caused the posts to try and pull through the back of my lip, I have circular scars on the back of my lip from that. here are some pics. Notice the one on the right is way higher, it only got more noticable as the swelling went down. also I don't know if you can tell how red and irritated those are. not fun stuff. oh, and a picture of my wifey

Chuck is the best in town. Trent on the other hand, is the only tattoo artist I'd go to in town.

TATOO CARVING!! on Tue, 11 Sep 2007 00:23:05 GMT

maybe dead rockstar would do it, i dunno. the one time i went to addictions the guy that did my piercings said that they were trying to get a licence to do it but i wouldn't get it done there. his sharps box was bursting full (it should at least be emptied daily), they only had one autoclave that I could see and it wasn't in the room, not to mention the room was open to the waiting area. overall i wasn't very impressed, I think they need to get up to speed on the new standards for handling body fluids. oh, and my piercing got screwed up, it was a double lowbret (like a labret, but down further in the crease of my chin, two, one on each side of the crease) and to start with the posts were too small to account for the swelling which caused the posts to try and go through the back of my lip over the course of a few days and the piercings had to come out. the procedure was pretty fucked up too, he marked the piercings fine but completely missed one causing them to be noticeably uneven, and when he did the actual piercing he did it slow as fuck in 3 motions which was excruciating and left big skin tags and caused massive swelling, the reason he did it so slow was because he didn't have sleeved needles or any plungers so he had to avoid sending the needle straight through into the front of my chin. the only reason I even let him do it is because it was the day before my wedding and I wanted it done for the wedding. so yeah.

They use a scalple to remove most of the layers or all of your skin. It's by no means new, but tends to get less publicity because the people who are doing it (while being as professional as they can) can not use anesthetic or have a truely "clean" room for what is basically a surgical proceedure.

It's pretty hard to find a place that will let you walk in and get a cutting around here

PS. Branding hurts afterward. No so much during.
