Overrated waste of $$$

Oh and before you even say it, Stock GT vs Stock 350 is a drivers race, and there is a nice price difference between the two.

Umm, the torque converter would be the least of his worries if he removed the limiter and felt he could safely hit higher than stock RPM. Valves could start floating, Piston to Valve contact could occur, anything in the heads could start breaking due to subjection to stresses it wasn't intended to see. Anything involving rotating masses would be subject to failure if he wasn't running an engine built to handle the higher RPMs.

I am however going to build up my VG and turn it into a HP beast, im going to turbo it and while the engine is out of the car im getting a 5-speed trans. (if i can find one cheap) and I'm also going to build up my engine while i have it sitting on the engine rack.

Using my swap as an example:

makes 240 hp and trq on an N/A 6. redlines @ 6200. Only available in an automatic, and uses 2 indiviual intake manifolds connected by an Iris valve that can open for "power" mode. Has serious breathing and exhaust issues.

If i freeze the iris valve open, remove the 6 miles of intake and put on a high flow filter, then run good exhaust, the engine can make power up to 7500 RPM. The reason they limited the reving was because of a shitty exhaust/clearing stroke on the cams plus the poorly flowing exhaust found on all subarus.

I'm sure other cars have similar setups...

do the research, what are the limitations and why? check, check, data log, then do...
