<![CDATA[Parcel delivery companies are rapists.]]>Yeah so I sold my wrx rear lip to a guy in new jersey. thinking shipping wasnt going to be more than 50 bucks we agreed on a price. well I also couldnt find something to ship it in so i decided to take the hit and pay 40 bucks for packaging so it wouldnt break. ok so no biggie. but then UPS says to send it to New Jersey it will cost 120 dollars. You gotta be kidding me. so i then check DHL and its 90 bucks and so i got a quote from fedex and the post office and they are both 85. Geez. There is no reason that it should be that much. Their reason was because of the dimensions. Yeah its long but it doesnt weigh that much and so on. its just a stupid rear lip. So i am asking the guy to send me some more money because i am not spending that much fucken money. The parcel companies are just plain rapists.

It is my fault for not checking first but he also figured it wouldnt be this much for shipping so i am prepared to give him his money back.

Now, to help the OP out a bit....try sending it Greyhound. Seriously. It'll take a few more days, but its a LOT cheaper than other parcel services that I've tried.

Anyway you can cut it down? Your probably over the dimensional weight by a few inches. Those few inches will raise the cost $50.

Its not like he is trying to bait and switch on him he is just being honest and asking for more money to cover shipping costs. From what I read both the buy and seller both assumed that shipping about be ~$50. Assumptions aren't always right.

Next time you can do an estimate on UPS.com etc and that is generally real close to what the cost will be. Or, find someone with daily pick-up that will let you ship the part under their account, that will save you about 25%.
