When you want to play a CD (or MP3/WMA-encoded CD-R/RW), just press a button and the faceplate glides effortlessly down, revealing the disc loading slot behind it. After you insert the disc, the faceplate automatically glides back up for operation. You can even adjust the faceplate angle to optimize visibility. The fine-pitch 4-tone dot matrix readout features dynamite graphics and is easy to read. Audiophile-quality Burr-Brown 24-bit D/A converters maximize audio resolution, while high-voltage (5.0V) preouts and System E's+ Advanced Crossover System maximize performance with external amplifiers. And when you connect the KDC-X679 to our new Kenwood Excelon amplifiers you can perform the amps' A.M.S. (Amplifier Management System) adjustments from the driver's seat. Advanced 2-way communication even shows you the amps' A.M.S. adjustment settings and operation information on the KDC-X679's display. There's even a telephone mute that works with cell phone hands-free kits and puts the KDC-X679 in standby mode when your cell phone rings.
