My 34" Insignia widescreen CRT is awesome, albeit very deep, and very heavy (150ish lbs). Can't beat the picture of a good old CRT, plus as an added bonus it does 1080p, which isn't mentioned anywhere in any documentation that comes with it. With a CRT you dont need to worry about contrast ratios or speed, so game on. I also have a 22 inch westinghouse LCD for the internets. It's not the quickest LCD, but its got a good contrast ratio and I don't do any PC gaming really so it works well for me. Point is I've had pretty good experiences with my store brand stuff, your mileage may vary.

Well - I know that I've heard now a couple times that Wal-Mart electronics are made by lower quality parts to give their customers even lower pricing.
I didn't know that Sears was selling Vizio, I didn't even see them there last time I was looking at TVs there.

Late Spring/Early Summer I plan to get a bigger TV - so I've been keeping my eye out for them, learning, keeping an eye on the pricing..

one site for some people to check out that I hear that is located out of the cities is....
Basically refurbished TVs with a full manufacturer warranty with the possibility of purchasing an extended warranty..
I haven't heard anything bad about them yet, but, I have heard good things so far. However, I'm not to sure about spending good $$$ still on something that is refurbished.
But just figured I'd share!

The major differences come in serviceability and replacement bulbs. Of course, if you buy a 1080p Vizio for hundreds less than a comparable "name brand" you could make the argument that you are getting your money's worth either way. I have a co-worker that has 2 vizio's, he bought a Samsung (or was it Sanyo...can't remember) for his family room and was PISSED that it's quality was worse than his Vizio that he had in his bedroom....so he returned the "good" tv and purchased the "poor" one and hasn't been happier since.

There is a reason that Vizio is the #1 selling TV on the market right now...best bang for the buck.
