<![CDATA[Suby crew: RS swap arrived! WOOT!]]>Well after a bunch of research and learning, I decided on a motor for my RS. It is a swap from a JDM WRX. I picked it up from a guy that planned to build a rally car, but didn't have the time. The rewire/merge of the car is supposed to be a 40 hour job, but I think I have cut that down quite a bit with research on those that have done this swap in the past. The WRX sedans in Japan came with a TD05 16G turbo and have 260hp. I originally planned to do a USDM WRX swap, but this motor came across my eyes and the price was great. Should be a screamer in the RS coupe! Here are some pics! (this guy is pretty excited):

To go with the swap, I plan to pick up some Defi's, 3" turboback, walbro 255, Exedy clutch, and some seals/gaskets to refresh the motor a bit. Looking to start chopping away at the harness next week, and put the car under the knife in the near future.

Beside putting in the coilovers, mounting a siren, hooking up tach for the autostart, putting the hood on we are done. Overall it kinda sucked, but not something I wouldn't do again.

Well great news. The motor runs! Turned the key and only had to hold it about 3 seconds and she fires right up. Only 2 CEL's, and both are related to the fact that we didn't have the intercooler on or the boost control solenoid hooked up (still have to route wires, so these were intentionally left unhooked). Tomorrow will bring the rest of the install (minor items), DEFI's, coilovers, and reinstallation of the interior (eek!). Then 500 miles of breaking in a clutch....THAT is gonna suck!

Soon to hit the streets, the coupe WRS. WOOT :icon_cheers:

Only 2 CEL's, and both are related to the fact that we didn't have the intercooler on or the boost control solenoid hooked up (still have to route wires, so these were intentionally left unhooked). Tomorrow will bring the rest of the install (minor items), DEFI's, coilovers, and reinstallation of the interior (eek!). Then 500 miles of breaking in a clutch....THAT is gonna suck!
