Fargo

..I'll get right to it. I was driving back toward home, figured I'd drive past AGAIN and see if the owner was around this time, never caught him in what.. five years or so..

and I wish I had a camera. Couple guys were loading up a semi, one bike at a time, taking them all out. The entire inventory. All gone.

The good news? The guy taking them is actually going to have them available for parts in Lisbon. He was on trailer load number five.. with probably three more to go after that one. I got his number and company name.. Chopsters. Outside of Lisbon by a few miles, 701-683-CHOP. No website yet but he's planning on getting everything inventoried (the previous owner didn't keep records apparently) and putting it all up online.

They let me watch and wander around a bit along with another few people who had showed up.. didn't find the turn signals I wanted, the parts inventory was already out, and the few bikes like mine didn't have them either.. so I just got in from spraypainting my ugly fairing and putting it back on the bike. Windjammers can be great.. but my windshield is all scratched up, makes for shitty glare riding into the sun, even worse at night.

cliff notes: this bike yard is getting emptied out, there still won't be anything in town, it'll be available nearby at least in a couple months, and I can start riding as soon as I pull my helmet off the closet shelf. :icon_rr:

I've got an '80 honda cx500.. dubbed "the crotchety rocket." it'll slowly turn into a ratbike as things get removed/replaced. I don't have a worthwhile camera, so no pics.. So far most of what I've done is basic maintenance: new cables, oil change, valve adjustments.. then upgraded to a k&n filter and harley silencers - now it's quieter than it was with the rotted stock pipes. I need to sync my carbs, haven't bought the tool for it yet.

I don't ride a whole lot, haven't gone through even a quarter tank of gas this season, so I'm kind of ashamed of myself.. especially because I friggin' LOVE taking the bike out on the road. Even though it's ugly and I look weird in riding gear, but I'm not out there to look pretty.

so the chopsters site isn't up yet, it's been a couple months, I may just swing down there some weekend to check out how things are going. They're in a town outside of Lisbon if I remember right, can't be too hard to find.

If I remember right, your KZ is getting chopped/bobbed? How's that going? I went back to find the link and it's not working for me.
