Any ways I'll probably do the basics, I/H/E and then coilovers, rims and tires. Nothing too fancy, I just want to make a fun car that still get's really good MPG.

So, does the SOHC 1.6 has any decent potential?

One more thing. I want to replace the tiny battery with one that'll handle my strereo, 2-12 Crossfire BMFs, 1 phoenix gold 1600.1 amp and a Stinger 5 farad cap, what do you suggest as a replacement for the stock battery that will fit in the same space?

Also, I'm sure I'll be looking for a front bumper cover and some trim pieces in the up coming month or so also. So let me know what you guys have.

Thanks in advance for any help you give me. :icon_salut:

unless you plan to run your system with the car off for extended periods, or need a higher voltage (you don't, your amps runs 14.4v i assume) a battery isn't going to do anything for you. the only reason for a battery to be ruined in this type of system is if the alternator cannot supply the current needed and starts draining the battery (not charging of course if your system is sucking all the juice). this is where you see the lights dimming, low battery voltage etc. as your system keeps sucking off the battery and the voltage gets lower the current draw INCREASES, so not only are you not getting the full power of your amp, but you are sucking harder at the teet of failure

what you need is a high output alternator. i couldn't find the specs for a phoenix gold 1600.1 but the 1200.1 pulls 80 amps at 4 ohms, but that is one of those jackassed switching amps that switches down to 250w so you can run a bunch of 1400w amps in a lower wattage class in competition. can you even do that anymore? GOD i hated those american bass amps and this shit.

Add together the external fuses on the amp (the amps max current draw) and then give a bit of room more for all the stuff in your car that needs electricity, and you'll be able to figure out what size alt you need.

Anyway, upgrade to a high output alt (i have a 130amp in my civic, 120 bucks shipped, worth every penny) and upgrade your grounds, see if you still think about a battery after that.
