The tests are not just straight up performance if you've ever read into the article. The test many things from as far as performance to handling to road noise to interior comfort, etc..

It might be a deciding factor for YOU or others on this forum but what you are not looking at is how many people there are out there who buy a car buy never race it and are perfectly happy with the way it performs from the factory. Honestly that is a very stupid argument when comparing performance cars, and obviously people have there own reasons for purchasing vehicles, but performance per dollar or performance in general are probably the biggest when shopping for performance vehicles.
