Well night started out pretty normal Matt, Travis, Jordan (Matt's roommate) and I were just watching Hot Fuzz when Travis stepped out on the balcony to smoke when he noticed some 'hoodlums' looking in cars. Seeming as Matt/Brandon's place gets broken into at least once a day we all bolt down to the parking lot to check if our cars/their garage got broken into...again. Much to our surprise they hadn't been YET but these kids were looking into everyone's cars and garages so we decided to go catch them so Matt's shit would stop getting broken into. Travis and I get into my car and take off to find them, Matt is on foot running after them, and Jordan's in his car. Matt runs across this field thing by Pracs hot on there trail so me and Travis decided to cut off the kids in the next parking lot. i pull in, kill my lights, and creep along. Then one of the kids pop out in front of me and i turn my brights on and Travis gets out and runs after that kid. Now while this is all going on i notice a riced out car in the waaaay back of the lot with a fat Indian looking kid just sitting in it, not in a real parking spot mind you, looking kinda suspicious. I circle the apartment complex a couple times every time passing by this car, each time he gets more and more uncomfortable looking, finally Matt calls me and we all meet back AT that riced out civic because Matt finally caught one of the kids.
We bitch this kid out for a while and ask him how old he was and shit, kid turned out to be like 15/16 or some shit. Him and that fat kid were sitting there feeding out lies to us about how all they were doing was "looking at peoples cars and stuff" yeah...at 12am with flash lights with their car parked about 2 blocks away. We get the kids name ALEX ANDERSON and get his other friends name that was running with him, who is hiding in the field still somewhere. After telling the kid to get his other friend over, the kid finally shows up at the car. Wearing a different shirt than before. We ask the kid his name and hes like "uhh Alex" we ask alex who and the kid gives us a bogus name. Knowing he's fucking lying to us because the other kids already gave us his name. So he's basically just starting off the bat lying to us. We ask the kid why he's wearing a different shirt and his response was "uhh because i was hot so i ditched my sweatshirt in the field." KNOWING the kid jacked something from one of the garages we tell him to either A) Go get this shirt and whatever he stole and we'll take care of it or B) We call the cops right now, the kid goes off for 20 mins looking for it....and of course didn't find it. So finally after bitching at these kids and telling them to never come back we leave. Just to find they still haven't left, and now they are all in the field looking for THEIR BOWL they ditched...oh and probably some shit they stole.
Watch out for a Blue Civic ex with 'wide body rear fenders' with a Minn license plate SKT 258. The kids names were Alex Anderson and Alex McGowan. Watch out because they might just steal your shit and go car hoppin.

I agree...great work catching these guys.
But I'd suggest calling the cops before trying to catch them. Relay info to the PD on where they are and let them grab em up. Lots of cops now are rollin on bicycles, and if they run from them like they ran from you, it's a crime and they go to jail. And you don't run the risk of a physical confrontation with someone who's willing to do anything to get away.
Having said that, I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing. But letting them go will only allow them to keep doing it, and they will.
