<![CDATA[Looks like time for a rebuild]]>Well, I thought it was too early for this to happen but it looks like I am going to need a rebuild. Lately the FD has been harder and harder to start and with extensive white smoke coming out of exhaust which usually means that coolant is getting into the engine.

Not too worried about it cause the engine was getting pulled this winter anyway. But I am pretty sure that the seals went earlier this summer when I had air bubbles in my coolant system and my temp reached 128 degrees C (262 F).

Its a bumber but I have nothing better to do this winter anyway.

You said it is getting hard to start though..... so you are loosing compression somewhere, and i highly doubt you are loosing much through the coolant seals......... so hopefully something isn't chewed up inside, and maybe just some cracked corner seals

I think the reason for the hard start is the spark plugs. With the 850 primarys i am running pretty rich and so I am sure that my plugs are fouled out being I havent changed them since May. I started it tonight for about a minute or so then it died. I then tried starting it again but it wouldnt turn over. Who knows! ill look at it when I have more time.
