All i need is an engine hoist and a transmission jack. to rent these from Rent-All would cost me over $100. So just seeing if anyone would be willing to loan me theirs for a day. Willing to pay for use of the equipment.

thanks
no shit. Thanks for that. When I took the tranny off before, i just took the 8 bolts off that connectedt he clutch plate to the flywheel. The FD's had a access panel to them.
But this looks way easier.

ha no problem...

unbolting the pressure plate from the flywheel can't be correct procedure, but what works works

good luck

Remember that if you split the engine from the car in a FD that they use a pull type clutch not a push.... so you need to release the throw-out bearing before it will come apart..

Should come out just as easy as a FC... only thing more a FD would have is the PPF, (Power Plant Frame) at the ass of the tranny

here is a link from kevin landers..... didn't look at it but should cover everything...

Its hard enough pulling them out with just the downpipe on. you have to take the tranny off before pulling the engine. Unless someone has done it, please enlighten me but even of rx7club, i have never heard of anyone doing it. If you have suggestions, i am all ears. and your right zack, it is easy taking the tranny out. I forgot how light they are. its putting in the tranny thats the hard part.

It is would be easiest to pull/install the engine with the tranny attached
