I tried heating the crap out of the thing, hoping the epoxy would soften but no luck. I've read on the internet that acetone will soften the epoxy, has anyone tried this or any other recommendations on getting epoxy to let go?

The cam gears are drilled so that the magnets drop into a 1/8" hole and are flush with the surface of the gear. Then a little epoxy is poured in the hole and the magnet set in. I haven't tried to drill or machine the magnets yet, I put two in incorrectly and hate to have to start all over with a new gear. There are 13 magnets in the gear, and a new set of magnets is $80.

Make sure to wear gloves, beacause it burns. TM-4 has the ability to remove up to 15 layers at a time, so it should suffice for epoxy

Sounds like a dumb question, but i am not positive they need to be salvaged if you say you were heating them...... unless you were using a heat gun, and in my head you were using a rose bud. haha
