A k20a head/k24 block in a crx or hatchie with n20 woudl definitly be a dream. For how new K20's are, they have been going fairly cheap on ebay. Tranny and all for right around 1700 usually. No one in fargo moorhead has done one of these yet. Anyone thought about doing one or know anything about them. IMO, this swap is the new b16.

If I had the money to do a K swap, I'd be all over it. THe only thing that's keeping me away from the K right now is that I have too many spare B-series parts to even give up on the Bseries lineup. Everyone thinks that the K20 swaps are expensive because they're thinking of the JDM type R transplants. You can find the k20a2 type S transplants locally for around the same price as the current b18c1 right now. YOu don't get the little bit of bump in compression and more aggresive cams, but that can all come later. With 200hp stock on the k20a2 it's not bad. I'm guessing that'll be around 170 something that actually goes to the ground. In the 170 range, you're gonna be pretty quick in the 1320, probably the same as a hatch with an h22, but with more potential
im sure with normal e/h/i you could put down less than 13 no problem.

The cylinder heads are amazing on these motors. Supposedly stock they flow almost as well as a heavily ported b series head.

Joel why are you even thinking about this, you've got youself in to the probe already, a dirt bike, the vigor, the last thing you need is another unfinished project!

Get one of em done!

The K Series motors as stated above are hella expensive, and not something that you can just drop in. Also, the last thing you'd want is to throw a big shot of N2O on a high compression motor... honda motor or not, they are only so strong

hardly, but just as Nick said they're new, and will continue to go down in price when they become more readily available. Not many motors that you can make N/A figures like the k20/k24 can.

People need to realize that.
Your run of the mill B16 was produced between 1990-2000. That's 10 years worth of motors sitting out there.

The K series motors have only been out for 2-3 years now which is why cost is high. You don't just run into them at junk yards.

K20 swap by the time it is all said and done would cost a TON. Most people are paying between 4 and 5k for a swap @ a minimum.

Remember for a k20 swap you need the following:

K Series Motor
K Series Trans
RSX Shifter Assembly
RSX Shifter Cables
Mount Kit
Custom Radiator
Custom Fuel Rail
Aftermarket FPR
Custom Wiring Harness w/ Custom ECU (transponder key delete, etc)
Custom Intake
And usually a Custom Header, although I believe the TSX header fits in the EG engine bay.

I would definately be more than willing to do the swap for someone. Would definately be a fun new challenge.
