The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The governor of each state [and whatever other government officers may have been involved] nominated and decided upon who the senators would be entirely without public input.

Elections and voting are supposed to be based on who or what you feel is best for your state and/or country. Normally people (if they are informed) vote for someone whose opinions and beliefs mirror theirs as much as possible...not whether a person is a comedian, pro wrestler, or anything like that. I guess that is almost more "proof" that my statement about the citizens of MN being "retards and idiots" is a true statement...they vote with little to no knowledge of where the person actually stands on certain issues, rather they vote based on an R or D next to a persons name or whether or not they like a guys wrestling moves or jokes.
