<![CDATA[XBox Modchip, what and where to buy]]>Well, I've decided to go with a modchip to fix my HDD issue.

All I need is for it to do is not check for a lock HDD when it boots. I'd also like to copy games to the HDD and play backups.

Can anyone suggest one or a place to buy one from?

but i was looking at tsop-man.com at they have aladdin xt chips for 13.49 plus $4 shipping.

i'll stick w/ soldering it in, but was wondering what you think about that chip?

The Xecuter V. 3 is obviously the best one out right now, but its quite expensive: $59 + Shipping.

If you do not feel comfortable soldiering all of the little points, you need to add in $23 for a solderless adapter (Worth it in my opinion).

All in all, look to spend $100+ on it... is it worth it? I dunno...

Generally speaking, soft-mods are my prefered way of doing things, it requires more initial knowledge of how to do things, but its free (or close to it).
