First to prep them for paint would it be better to blast them or would it be fine to just sand them down with sand paper.<br />
Next question is that there is some curb rash on a rim, not sure how deep it is but if it cant just be sanded away you can just fill it with bondo and it will be fine once painted right.</p>

Safety matters lol.  Like the bondo makes a rim less safe.  Sure if he was making the entire rim out of bondo but just a little curb rash come on.  JB weld will stick better but bondo would be just fine, I have done both bondo is easier to work with.  If its a steel rim that already has a painted finish sanding will work just fine but it'll be a lot more work.</p>

Sanding or blasting will work for stripping, I would recommend the blasting. Powder coat would work great as far as painting goes too.</p>
