They can ship it or you can suck it up and drive to pick it up. My gun was going for ~$960 at every place locally, none of them were willing to deal. Reed's got me one BRAND NEW for $810. They are also a Sig dealer so you might get an even better deal on a Sig through them.

If you buy a 1911 and you're not willing to spend big bucks, make sure it's in .45 and not .40. Most out of the box .40 cal 1911s don't run that well.

Try Sportsmans/Gander and negotiate price. If it doesnt pan out let me know and maybe we can work something out. If you are going to use it as carry, get a Kimber, the 226 is too bulky.
