I have an old vw engine that had point ign and was switched to a pertronix ignitor. I checked my coil for proper operation. got a good 12v switch power to pos side of coil, got 12v going to red wire on pertronix unit, and black wire from unit going to neg on coil. while cranking the coil does not ground like it should. (test light on neg side of coil stays powered up.) the car ran fine before it was parked-(last year). Just kinda seeing if anyone has done much diag on these units or had many problems with them. I also made sure the plate under the unit was a good ground. makes me want to convert back to points. lol.</p>
