And if you want one its big $$$, Relatively speaking.  The mark VII had the HO motor the 86 up mustang did and some cougars and t birds as well.  Beings the car is carbed buy a 351 from a mid 80's van or pickup, do a budget rebuild with a hot cam, intake and headers and you'll be making around 280 crank power.  To get to the next level you need better heads, a used set of aluminum ones can be had for $500 to $700 and will put you around 320ish crank hp depending on the cam, intake, carb, and compression you go with.  That said even with good aluminum heads you could build a nice 351 for around $1500.  The carbed big block is a little pricier but with just a cam, intake, carb, and headers will make 350 to the wheels.</p>
