It isn't really that modified, just has a new cooling system, headers, shelby style side exit exhaust, an edelbrock hi-rise intake manifold, and a holley 650 carb, if that helps at all. I'm kind of sick of not being able to drive it how I want to.

They are soft and get beat to shit with the hot temps todays low octane creates in your combustion chamber. That "could" explain the loss of power over time. Worn camshaft could as well. It would be interesting to see your set up to determine your issue.

I know it's a small engine, but it has gotten significantly worse. I just wanted it back to normal.

And yes. I am sure that the 650 is a bit big. But that was what I installed when I was 16, so that is what I have to work with.

Ruthless351, If you have the time, I would greatly appreciate if you took a look at it. If that is the problem, tuning would save me a lot of money and time. Or if you know a place to take it to get tuned, that would work as well.

The carb works well enough to drive it and that's about it. I also doubt that the valves have been adjusted, but I don't have any idea. I'm just running 87 pump gas and running seafoam through it every once in a while.

Other problems that came to mind- mild leak between the water pump and thermostat and the black. I also usually go through at least one starter solenoid a summer.
