I have a 65 mustang coupe that I pretty much dd. However, I want to convert it to more of a weekend car that I can track as well as upping the safety quotient. One of the things that I would like to do is add racing seats, 3 or 4 point harnesses, and a roll cage or bar to attach the harness to, as well as stiffen the chassis. It doesn't need to be a full cage though; more of a half- from the mid to the back.

I don't have the skills or the equipment to be able to do this myself, so where would be a good place to take it? I don't really care to leave the rear seats in, but I would like the possibility of returning it to "stock" in the future.

Currently, the only safety equipment is lap belts in the front.

Last thing, and most obviously, I'd like it to look good. Whoever ends up doing it will obviously do good work, but I do plan on showing it sometime in the future.

Thank you,
Chris

A regular 8-pt cage would stiffen the car up nicely if you don't mind climbing in over the door bars. Or you can make the door bars swingout also.

I have looked around a little for cages online, but those are mostly for the fastbacks. Also, it would likely be the half cage, for aesthetics as well as not wanting to completely tear up the car, or wear a helmet. That was a good point.

if you want to drive the car without a helmet, only do a half cage. a full cage without a helmet means you are going to be brain-dead in an accident, if you end up living.
