According to Lt. Tory Jacobson:

The owner of the home, located in the 400 block of Clearview Court next to The Meadows Golf Course, told police she went to let her dogs out at about 6 a.m. and found a pair of wet socks and wet underwear on her front porch.

She went through the back door that exited onto the patio area and saw a “significant wet spot” she believed was urine in the area of the doormat, then entered the garage and discovered a naked man in front of an SUV parked inside.

The woman called police, who arrived and opened the overhead garage door.

“He recognized that he was naked and didn’t want to come out, but he had to,” Jacobson said of the suspect.

Benjamin Asplin was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and indecent exposure and taken to the Clay County Jail. Police detected “a strong odor of alcohol emanating from him,” Jacobson said.

The homeowner believed the rear garage door must have been left unlocked, Jacobson said.
