<![CDATA[short term shop rental ?]]>Does anyone know of a place in town that will let you rent lift time? I'm guessing its a long shot but we had a few places like this when I was in the military that were a real life saver when you needed them. I have to swing a trans in my a8 so I need 2 or 3 days on a lift which sucks but that's life.

If that doesn't work out I'm likely going to rent a small shop without lift and see about buying one, probably just share it between myself and friends for cheap. The shop wouldn't be so bad and lifts used aren't terribly spendy either.

Any ideas fellas?

P.S. If we were to 'rent' out our hoists, it'd be around $100 an hour, if not more in order to cover the extra insurance costs.

I have considered opening up a shop, but only as a hobby/side project, mostly friends, family, and word of mouth. Most of my equipment is aimed at Semi Diesel truck service, but I have about everything I need to cover most makes, and I have my own copy of Audi and Toyota factory service software and manuals, as well as a lot of VAG/Toyota/Mazda speciality tools, but usually when I am home I prefer to do nothing for a week or two. That and having to travel with or split up my tools would be difficult. I could probably supply myself a "home" tool set thats sufficient enough, albeit basic, but covering all my sockets/wrenches, and a few impacts and such.

However, I doubt I'll do that. Right now I'm looking for a small space to rent and probably buy a bend pac lift for myself. Most of the work I have is tinkering with my own stuff and car problems those who know me have.

I didnt figure I'd find much around town that would do this. So be it i guess.
