The vacume line was used when acid from the batteries screwed up the stock one and ate a whole in it lol so I had to use whatever I had to keep it running... Backyard mechanics ... I only had some vacume line so I tried my best lmfao... YES im good at blowing shit up... screwing up cars lmfao... just my own ;).  HAHHAHA  maybe this time now something will be done right !!!  Well Chuck you will have to stop by type r this weekend and check out the parts I bring down... Lots of fun stuff has arrived :).  Now im just doing a little fiberglass work and body stuff to make it look a little diff..  Should be fun to see how it turns out.  Thanks for your time..</p>

]]></description><link>https://fargostreet.com/post/38471</link><guid isPermaLink="true">https://fargostreet.com/post/38471</guid><dc:creator><![CDATA[Joel]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 30 Mar 2005 19:07:55 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Reply to Alero Stereo Setup on Wed, 30 Mar 2005 18:37:07 GMT]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p dir="auto">i have delt with aftermarket alternators before in a civic and it did no justice, i guess it could be because it was a 18 in solo x and a soundstream tarantula amplifier, but no matter what it still kept cutting out, and then one day on our way to grand forks from devils lake the regulator went out, and we started blowing up batteries, we blew up one on our way there got a new one, and about 6 blocks later blew the caps off  so we kept filling it with distilled water and then when we left forks, we bought a better battery from checkers auto parts, and about 20 miles out of forks the caps blew on that one, so we filled it up and started the car and disconnected the alternator until the battery died, push started the car,ran with the alternator for about 10 miles stopped and did that all the way back from grand forks for about 90 miles and then we put a new alternator in the next day just a stock one, and blew the motor with NOS a few hrs later.</p>

<p dir="auto">While technically true that the amps will draw high current, the don't do it for long...just milliseconds at a time w/ normal music.  Therefore you don't NEED a high amp alternator for MOST normal applications, a simple capacitor will suffice. (1 farad minimum and 1 farad per 1000 watts)</p>

Extra batteries is the way to go for extended parking lot thumping....that and capacitors.  Besides that, they are class D amplifiers, not high current/low ohm monsters.</p>
