<![CDATA[honda help]]>I am looking at a 88 civ(i think its 4 dr if that helps). the guy knows nothing about it, but I was just wondering what series of motor was in it. I think it's fuel injected. He doesn't know what trim level it is. thank you for any help.

my use of DPFI may have been wrong, i was using it as dual point fuel injection. There is definitely only 2 injectors on there.

a plus to the 88's is that they are lighter than the newer ones
an 88 dx 4dr is 1900 to 2000lbs.

dpfi is 2 fuel injectors in the throttle body instead of 4 on the runners.

DPFI stands for direct port fuel injection. which means one injector for each cylinder. There should be 4 injectors on that engine if that's what it says on there. I (personally) have never seen a Honda engine with throttle body injection. (with injectors in the throttle body). I'm not saying they dont exist, I've just never seen one EVER.

88-91 Civic DX have D15A rated at 92 hp @6000 rpm
86-87 SI have EW4 rated at 91@5500
90-91 EX have D16A6 rated at 108@6000

check to make sure which vehicle trim is on the title, or there should be a stamping on the block.....my years might be wrong, old sorce.
