$5000 is a bit high for an old school hatch unless its flawless w/ some nice parts.

Sorry harwood, but I disagree w/ your formula. My theory is that if the car books at $5000 and has 1500 worth or aftermarket parts, the car is worth about $4000 to $4500. Reason being is that most people want to do the mods themselves w/ parts they selected OR they just want a plain stock car to drive. The exception might be all out race cars and all out show cars.

bought for 2500 with
wings west poly front bumper
gutted from the seats back besides two side panels

put in the safc 2 (brand new from straightline, you can look up the price, $200 ish?)
tenzo seats - 250 from sean (spankjelly)
rims- $875 1 year ago so im guess worth about 500-600 now
system-600
turbo kit with gauges- roughly 800? with new cca IC and BOV from straightline
d16y7/MPFI swap-had laying around
brand new headgasket-$50
new passenger axle-$60
apexi auto timer-$160

so im not completely sure, ive NEVER been good at pricing cars
