<p dir="auto">Depends what you want your AWD system to do for you.  Subaru's AWD all the time which makes them a great candidate for WRC type events compared to AWD systems that only apply power to the front wheels when they detect wheel spin.  Subaru pretty much pioneered the modern AWD system and is considered by many to be the only real competition that Jeep has for AWD/4WD design and enginuity and reliability.  I'm not saying the Quattro is a bad AWD system as I've never driven a quattro, just stating what I have read/heard, so take it for what its worth</p>

<p dir="auto">Yeah but GT-Rs are 100% RWD until the car has some rear wheel slipping then they switch to 50/50 power distribution... I dont know for sure, but I dont think an STi can do that?</p>
<p dir="auto">I do beleive the skyline is still hailed as having the best power distribution to date... and no one has re-created it yet.</p>
