<![CDATA[weird idle, help me out]]>i got a question ive got a 93 ford probe gt and sometimes after i run it hard my idle drops to bout 900 then back up to 1500 idk what problem is.

But I would say check for vaccumm leaks, i'm quickly finding out that fords run more vaccum lines then the chevy's i'm used to so it is pretty easy for one of those to have a leak and cause lots of problems. hit all the lines with carbcleaner or something and if it changes the idle then you know you have a leak, if not check to make sure it isn't just set wrong (like barry was saying) good luck!

What does it normally idle at when the engine is warmed up? If it's idling above 900 normally then you have it set wrong. It should be idling at about 750-800 RPM.

Joel, if you think you know what his problem is, why didn't you post it?

Things to check are possible vacuum leaks, the TPS, Idle Air Control solenoid, and the adjustment screws for affecting the throttle body plate.

Though mines in the shop right now and i'll let you know if they figure out what was doing that.

But joels right, these cars are just trouble.
