<![CDATA[Looking for Very decent sub amp (not a wanted ad)]]>Ok ive done my research and come to the conclusion that there are like 7 decent amp companies in my opinion. I have one mtx 9500 12in dual 4vc sub they say like 2000 watt max and they recomend like 750watt rms amp. ok i have a one ferrad cap and all the good wiring already in and i was running the older rockford fosgate bd1500d amp but i sold that. i was thinking on getting a diamond audio d6 amp the 1500 watt one dont remember the model number or a jl audio 500/1 amp. but then someone told me to check out phoenix gold and their octain r series amp and its like oh well i might as well check out the alpine v12 too. and ontop of this all i have an eclipse 7232 amp but its way big and way heavy so i want a different one.

mainly cause its 9 feet long and it weighs like 40 pounds its a monster i kind of want something that wont make my 4 channel and my other two channel look like trinkets

That amp is excellent , i personally prefer Eclipse over most anything out, why dont you just set the gains down? it would always be nice to have that extra power on tap 😉

What happens when that amp takes a shit on you?

Not so much, but with the right sealed box w/ a QTC of .707 or so it would do ok (though not phenomonally clear as it is afterall an spl sub.) I still think a pair of those infinity amps I quoted you would work well.

As for brands.....Linear Power, Memphis, Zapco, JL Audio, Phoenix Gold Xenon, and Diamond are all good choices.

It could have definately used another amp.
