Chuck is right that is all factory back when actual street cars were raced in NASCAR. The wing was that high so the truck would open as it had to be functional for NASCAR's rules back then... It's all metal and very functional it was connected directly to the frame and was said to be able to lift the back of the car up in the air and hold it. That one is a 1970 superbird it started life as a road runner they made the "winged cars" in 1969 & 1970. In 1970 they sold for about 4G new and now are one of the highest priced cars on the aution block.

Oh that is also the orginial paint called "Lemon Twist" I believe that's the name, and in 1969, 1970 mopar rulled the NASCAR circute and was one of the reasons why nascar started making rules to slow the cars down... Richard Petty "DA MAN"

The only reason that they had it that high was so that the trunk would still open underneath it. Slightly rare car that I would not mind owning.
