We went out for a drive and holy shit I just hit redline(without popping at WOT) but I didn't remember hitting boost or hearing a spool what so ever....so I try it again and sure enough theres no positive pressure(MAYBE 1lb) but what intrigued me the most is that my turbo didnt even try to spool...it made a very light whistle but it was not a spool noise what so ever...even if there was a HUGE boost leak(theres a decent sized problem) wouldnt the turbo still try to spool up and make some noise actually? The only thing I can think of is that the actuator doesnt work and is stuck open or the turbo is blown...does the last one sound right? I have smoke at idle and when i just get off idle...and supposedly the rear oil seals are very common to go on this turbo....does that sound like what would happen if the oil seals would go?

Just get a clamp on there already.

Tony just face it, you got ripped off, no excuses around it. The car has ran like complete garbage since day 1 and it still doesn't run right. I'd have fixed the problem long time ago or dumped the whole car by now.

yeah guys learn from my problems...dont buy cars with swaps that have problems(it has been fun so far regardless of how much of a pain its been tho), or former dyno queen DSM shells with the tranny laying in the car where the front seat was....but in all honesty the $10 reducer i bought the other day was the single most expensive part ive bought since ive had the car...not bad id say for a car with problems....

Either the turbo isn't getting sufficient exhaust flow or it's not rotating. Hey, if it's stationary, you have one of those $69.95 supercharge any car deals. Anyway, it's a nice excuse for a new turbo.

I'm not gonna give up on it...i basically shoulda just redone the swap when i got the car...it woulda been faster by now...a new turbo is definately around the corner but i dont wanna spend any money on mods until i can be certain its gonna fix the problem or the problems are fixed...i need a 3'' to 2.5'' reducer before i can make any more assumptions or anything...
