Anyways, Mills Ford in Brainerd. I know a couple of the mechanics there pretty well and I trusted that they would do a good job... and they did. It just cost a bit more then the average shop.

If he's really getting a lot of shit for his car... maybe he's just hanging around the wrong crowd. Gotta stick with what you like, the hell with everyone else. There are more then enough Mustang people in the Fargo area.
http://www.northstarmustangs.com/ for example. Their next meeting is next Tuesday at Luther Ford, usually around 6:30. CCR would know for sure.

EDIT: shane one of the best things you can do on a mustang to drop its times fairly significantly is put some gears in it. 4.10's will drop a GT .5 or more in the quarter mile and still have enough RPM left to get their car up to 140mph before redline (plenty of room for the speeds/times you seem to be wanting). Granted those are GT specs so im not sure on the V6 aspect, check out stangnet forums, the guys on there are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff.

3.73's and 4.10's are the way to go with a Stang. I knocked off about .6+ going from the stock 2.73's to 3.73's with my '87 GT. If you have a stick, probably stick with 3.73's, if you have an AOD, then the 4.10's are alright. You won't have enough RPM's left with a stock engine to reach 140mph though.
I used to own a '95 Stang with the 3.8 6 cyl and that thing would have responded just as well with a gear change. That thing was a dog off the line.
I'm not quite sure what all you have done to the car so far, but there are plenty of things you can do to make it a bit quicker for fairly reasonable if that is what you are concerned with.

I would rather run be out running 9 second passes in my daily driver and not sitting in a lawn chair for 5 hours next to my car so people can look at my sexy detail work. Just my opinion though. It would be nice to get the stang moving a little more. if people bitch about something about your car its probably because you dont have the kind of mods they have and that is just their way of giving there input.

There are very few original looking Mustangs around here. People tend to stick with the same old wheel styles, the exact same styling of exhaust systems, and other careful "Mustang" modifications.

I know people can be extremely vocal against someone else's car if they think it's ugly or "riced out", but I think people take it to the extent that it's verbal bullying. A good example is Harwood with his Civic. Both of you have been accused of being ricers more times than could be counted. What I'm suggesting is you take some of the elements you like best about a lot of other vehicles and decide how to apply it to an overall theme for your car. You'll never please everyone, so it's my believe that you shouldn't bother. I know what it's like to have people give you shit just because of what your car looks like. You have to try not to take it personally if you truly like what you've done to your car. They're not the ones who put the money and time into it and have to be seen driving it.
