I was looking at some cars in jamestown this weekend and ran across a 1988 pontiac sunbird GT  it said turbo on it and had a factory boost gauge in the cluster. couldnt' spot and intercooler or the tell tail turbo exhaust.  but I didnt' think those cars came with turbo's  anyone know anything about this?</p>

<p dir="auto">I looked up that turbo'd shadow when my friend bought a base one, it said they made 245hp stock!  I think it was a turbo'd 6  really caught me off gaurd.  but yeah, I think it might of been early tuners, or just trying to get power and fuel economy...</p>

about a year ago i was curious too, when i happened across some 15-17year old driving a red turbo grand prix heading down 25st.  so i get next to him, look over and rev, he takes the bait and floors it.  so i floor it drop to 2nd and floor it... i barely creep ahead up to the top of 2nd, and shifting into 3rd put some good distance on him.  i'm guessing the turbo is pretty small, or was so gunked up from misuse that it couldn't do much.<br />
i just looked around a bit... and i'm going to have to debunk that 2.0 turbo comment.  gm didn't make a 2L engine (correct me if i'm wrong), they boosted a 3.1 with a t25<br />
