1. nothing is wrong with a debate, its just that it wont really change anything, especially how the police view our/your cars.

2. your exhaust could be considered a fart can, based on looks. but, I think its more about sound. Does your car sound like a chainsaw on crack? Or does it sound like me after a bad night of tacos and heiniken beer? PERSONALLY, I do not like that style of exhaust system, I mean, why do you need a 4.5" exhaust tip when the rest of you system under 3"? I am guilty f this offense but not by choice. Kaleb put my exhaust system on and thought I would like a 4" tip on my 2.5" straight thru muffler, lol

3.I totally agree!!! all cars SHOULD be policed the same, thats one of my main points. Its just not going to happen in fargo, simply because the police suck. And also, I was making a point that my car does not have the typically raspy/farty/chainsaw-y sound of a typical fart can.

I also agree with the fact that they should have established db limits for cars. BUT! this could also play to your advantage if you ever get a ticket. I mean, if you take it to court and fight it, you can argue with the judge that you NEED a set db limit to know what is too loud, otherwise you will not know if your exhaust system is too loud AFTER you fix your car to avoid another ticket.

If you race regularly, then the car shouldn't be driven on the street, since its for race only, right? Loud does not equal more flow. You can still run a muffler that makes it quiet, and still get good performance.

that being said, I think the over huge red-neck mobiles with confederate flags and straight pipes are a far bigger problem in fargo than the fart can factor. Also, harleys REALLY annoy me. I mean, when they go by, it almost hurts my ears, seriously.

If you could get it in writing that the FPD is SPECIFICALLY targeting imports and not just loud exhaust, Im sure you could take them to court or something over it.

in summation, yes it sucks that they are pulling this shit, but what do you expect from the police department that brought you the "Party Patrol"? That whole waste of taxpayer money is no more, and this new "law" too shall come to pass.

Yes, I voted that I liked the look and heritage of the mustang over the eclipse. I'm not a fan of eclipses though. Not that there's anything wrong with them, I just don't like them. but where are you getting your figures for MSRP when the Cobra was new in 2004. According to this http://www.car-prices-costs.com/2004-Ford-Mustang.html the MSRP was $34,575. Granted they may have depreciated $10,000 in one year, I'm not saying they wouldn't. But new vs. new the imports have the market on cheap HP/Handling/Etc... right out of the box. In fact, in 2003 Hot Rod magazine (I think it was hot rod anyways) ran a bone stock wrx vs a cobra and the wrx beat it in almost every category....but the magazine said overall they liked the advanced RWD of the mustang or some lame shit. Anyways, you can't really compare used to used due to depreciation.

It was all in fun, I own/have owned muscle cars over the years and have a respect for what they have done to advance motorsports. Having said that, I really haven't seen any progress from them in the last 25 years. Possible exceptions being Z06 and Viper as somewhat affordable sports cars. They lost what made them cool to the kids in their day....affordability and the ability to cheaply add horsepower/performance. They failed to evolve. Period. That is why the whole import revolution took place in the first place. I drive a 310 whp/352 wtq awd car that makes 28 mpg highway. My performance mods aren't all that expensive either, certainly cheaper than if I had bought a Vette/Viper and actually cheaper than an STi/Evo. Sorry this got way off topic, I just started typing and semi-coherent sentences started forming so I went with it.
