<![CDATA[Why doesn't anybody race?]]>Alright, so there were about I'd say 25 cars there tonight;

Are we the only community that doesn't like to go racing? We've been trying to figure this out now for some time... what detours you from wanting to go fast.

Bodykits, neon lights, led's, its something you'd expect to find in brainerd, or bemidji... but are we still at this stage? Has anybody realized there is sort of an evolution of an import community, and everywhere that actually has one, ends up going fast.

Bodykits get broken. Paint gets chipped. Neons break. I have yet to see a trailer queen show winning car come out of Fargo, but people still pour litearly tens of thousands of dollars, of thier own (not sponsor) cash in to these. I can understand wanting to impress people with a flashy bodykit, or having one becuase it looks cool (i had a ricer car i know), but when you think about it, is crusing all you really want to do? If you have any mods done to your engine, even just an intake... why did you do it? Was it for the sound? Why did you turbo your car... just for the blow off valve sound? I know it may help give a boost in performance to get to point a to point b, but the fact is... the parts are made for you to go FAST...

If the fargo import community, and the members of fargostreet.com are only interested in purchasing go fast parts, becuase they 1) look bling 2) sound cool 3) impress your friends, then I should shut the site down now... that's just dumb... I KNOW you guys have means by which to go fast, alot of you have really nice cars... but you just don't use them! common!

However, I happen to know that many of the cars with these on them, have atleast some bolts on, or the potential to go fast.

Other cars, are built to go fast, but yet never race....

Have you never tried it? Whats the deal! If you need matchups, I'm sure a few of us would gladly help!

Easier said then done. By race track i don't mean a drag strip. Drag racing is fine if thats what you like. Personally i don't care if your car is faster in the 1/4. I enjoy actually racing. To me the real test of man and machine is a real race track. A place where you can do some laps, learn the limits of your car and skill. I'm not trying to say drag racing isn't racing, it is all that you can do around here. Drag racing someone on the street isn't very smart. I know they have auto crosses around here but those are a joke. 30 second runs around a parking lot seems pretty pointless, to me anyway. I used to go to St. Cloud but something happened there and they don't race anymore or something. I did get to see a bmw in a very violent crash there, man was that something. I will race anyone around a track.

Guess what, it meant something to those that put their hard earned money into their car. I'm a high 12-low 13 second car at best...you know what though, I have built MY CAR the way I want it....yet I hear from everyone "When are you gonna get a 'real' turbo" or "why did you put all that money into your car and not race it?" The answer: "Maybe never" and "Because I know how fast it will go, no need to beat it up at the track over and over and over" because right now I'm happy with how it runs and I'm happy NOT having to buy parts for my car.
