I have tried putting the wireless router upstairs where the modem is and having my computer downstairs. Not such a great idea, shitty reception. So I took the good wireless router off the upstairs modem, and just gonna use a shittier wireless for just branching cable to my computer downstairs. It branches off the modem upstair to run to my computer to get rid of the wireless. I would however, like use my good wireless router and have it for downstairs for my laptop. Is this possible? To have 2 wireless routers in one house? Use the internet line from the router upstairs running downstairs and plug it into my good router downstairs? I am needing the ethernet cable ends and the crimper, I already have tons of cat5 line.....I know you can buy these but for this one time usage, anybody have one layin' around I could rent??? I will go buy the ends, but the crimper is kinda expensive. Also, I cant remember the color order the wires have to be in when you crimp the ends on. I think there are like 7 or 8 little wires inside the cat5 cable, just dont remember the order. Any help would be great!

They are so cheap already crimped on ebay, that unless u do it a lot, or enjoy it, doesn't really make any sense.(unless you need a ridiculously long piece)

Going to run it through the walls. If I need to, I suppose I'll go buy one, but I'm only crimping 2 ends, so, just thought I would ask around.

Also yes you can run two wireless networks in the same place, we have 2 in our apt, not sure why other then that we each had a wireless router. shouldn't have to many problems cept that brick walls really hurt the signal strength. good luck

And you wont technically need a router downstairs, you can just use a normal access point in repeater mode connecting to the upstairs.
