Destroking usually moves the torque curve towards the upper RPMs and sometimes results in a lower number. However there are instances where that is not true. A long-stroke 468 actually has lower torque than a short-stroke 469. And the RPMs of the torque curve are nearly identical. The long-stroke peaks at like 800rpm sooner, but the short-stroke actually made more torque and hp. There are many factors that differ between every motor. Combustion chamber, valve size and shrouding, piston shape, cam profile, rod-to-crank angle, etc. Saying that destroking any motor will make it more linear is a incorrect statement. Destroking a 350 to 327 usually doesn't have much to do with the torque, but a 350 is def. capable of far higher hp numbers. Sometimes cubic inches is the best. Take a Chrysler 340 for example. It has the same stroke as the 318 that is generally known as a torque monster and was a very popular truck motor. The 340 is a much larger bore (4.04 to 3.91) yet, the 318 generally makes more torque at lower rpms but high-rpm hp suffers. But the torque curve on a 340 is far more linear than a 318. So many factors involved.

Honestly, i'd be more impressed with shoving in a DOHC SHO V6, turbo and try that. You can put a V8 into anything. And has generally been done by every redneck I know. Chevette, Focus, Neon, Yugo even.... Doesn't mean I'd like to drive them more than a RWD Talon with a 2.4L and big hairdryer. The fun factor seems greater considering it still a small motor and will give most if not everything a run for it's money. That the whole point of our sport/hobby. Doing more with less. I will give them props for making it fit with almost no signs of what lurks under the hood. Only sign was from the back with the flowmasters.

And if you watch the skid marks from the video....it has posi. Otherwise, i'm sure that it would have lit up more than 1 gear.

that, I believe, wouldn't be the kit...assuming the 351 in the file name is true....

The motor used in the conversion kit was a quad cam 4.6L...

Impressive though... but looks like there's going to be a lot of useless HP there.
