And second of all, yes you more than likely did buy a POS clutch. Any parts store like that sells clutches that have no holding power because they're cheap and people supposedly like them for the light pedal feel. I've done a couple of Carquest clutches in cars and I won't ever even waste my time doing it again. You're so much better off just buying a cheap ACT, Exedy, or something similar.

New not reman: pressure plate, clutch disc, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing. I did not have the flywheel ground, could that be a problem or did I just spend an entire day putting in a shitty clutch.

It wasn't too bad, it just took sometime to get everything apart. The only problem now is that the clutch pedal takes almost no effort push, is this because of the pressure plate. Any thoughts?

You HAVE to know what your doing.

You have to have the tools.

If I rember right with a 97 civic you cannot just jack up the side of the engine you have to take part way out.

P.s. If you asking us if you should or can, you should not do it yourself.

You dont want to let it hang on the input shaft - you'll bend it and cause more problems than its worth..

I would just take it in.. For 250-300, its almost worth the money to have her done with a lift and power tools...
