I can help you with it jon. I did it on the probe already once. Pin, His car is RWD, its not just to say he has a battery in his trunk. He needs space under the hood and as much weight as he can get over the back wheels.

Make sure to do the switch properly if you are running the alternator still. You'll need to run a wire from the alternator to the positive on the battery then to the positive battery to switch, then from other side of switch up to the fuse distribution block. Most race cars don't usually run an alternator so it's really easy to do it vs wiring it with an alternator.

One thing you could do is modify an extra taillight for the track. I've seen some of the SN95 mustang guys do that, and it looks pretty good. You can then put the other light in for the street and not have a big switch sitting there.

I'm going to be needing the extra room, so I've recently looked into this matter again. I'm willing to cut up the body to mount a disconnect switch as I drive a 13-year-old car with shit for resale value.

As far as the legality, sabin lets a shitty marine box pass tech, but I don't think any other tracks near here will.

If you want to pass tech inspection at an NHRA track, you'll need an approved battery box and a remote disconnect switch. Summit Racing would have those things, as well as Performance Auto and I'm sure other performance shops in town could order them if they don't normally stock them. The blue Moroso battery box is one that comes to mind, and I think it costs around $80. You can't get away with a marine battery box as they aren't track legal. Someone else more knowledgable on this subject will probably correct me on some things.
