I had my car in the shop at an Interstate Battery store when they determined it was bad, and they installed felt washers along with the new battery. I've had no corrosion problem at all since then. Those washers are less than $3.</p>

Like the wire brush that fits over the battery post and spin it.  IT WORKS PERFECT</p>
