You "have" to have full coverage if you have a loan at the bank. As long as you don't tell the bank, then they will never know.

Sounds like a good idea, except that you are paying $300 a month for the next few years on a car that you aren't driving. And meanwhile the car is just going down in value due to being older. It isn't that unique of a car, you would be better off selling it, and then just saving the money you would have otherwise spent on loan payments, storage fees, and insurance, then you could buy a nice car straight out, or buy an even better car with a small loan.

I think the plan with the beater project car is to find a crap honda(probably shanes hatch laying behind t-masters, and do either an LS-turbo or a d-turbo, and tin it out, full race style. No licensing, no insurance, just track. I will not be in a hurry to get it done, so I'll wait for good deals to come my way, and I will in the mean time save up money.

Yea, i am building 2 cars right now and going to school full time. It takes awhile and they mite not be the nicest things around, but its still fun. Its easier though cuz i get to use my dad's garage but it is 2 hours away from school so i can only work on them during weekends.

That is why i have saved up for everyone of my cars and paid cash for them, then built them myself. They may not be the nicest, but they are all paid for.
