I know on mitsu turbos shaft play is bad. I am looking at a car with a garret 50 trim turbo that is supposedly rebuilt, but it has quite a bit of shaft play and the owner says garret's have shaft play. I don't believe him. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Generally there should be very little play.
