And i was diving it around a little and it ran fine. So on my way home from a freinds house i babied it the hole way. well at the light by 32 nd and university i got on it alittle in first to 5500 rpm then slowly shifted and then to 5000 rpm in second. well as i got to 5 grand in made a slight pop, then it made a ziziziziziziz sound like maybe the timing belt snaped. imediatly i let off and the oil light came on quickly so i turned the car off and coasted to a stop. i poped thew hood and the timing belt was fine. I then noticed that the exhaust manifold in the middle by the bolt holes for the turbo it was glowing red.</p>
<p dir="auto">I have no knowledge of what might have gone wrong so if anyone knows what it could be....lmk thanks in advance</p>

<p dir="auto">LOL.  I never had a timing belt f-up on mine..</p>
<p dir="auto">Belt probably wasn't tensioned correctly or your tensioner went bad.  When you were changing speeds of the engine, the belt probably got some slack and jumped/skipped/ripped itself apart.</p>

There will be little dings in them, but don't worry about that.  If one is cracked or broken then you have issues.  Just get the valves replaced and a new belt and HG, and you're good to go.</p>

The thing is i have no idea what caused this to happen as iwas just going into second from first and then boom t-belt acts up. so i wonder how bad the bottom end is and head.... well i will post later tonight when i pull the head...</p>

<p dir="auto">W/o looking @ it or knowning a little more its just a guessing game.  Those cars under load cruising typically run 1200-1300 degrees.</p>
