<![CDATA[Am I crazy?]]>I had a minor accident with the prelude this week and basically put it in an undrivable status.

I've been thinking a lot about what car to move onto from here and I think now may be the time to get the one I've always wanted. A Miata.

Now I'm very picky about which one. It has to be a 94 or 95 (1.8L, OBD1, optional LSD) and manual. Having one with LSD would obviously be a big bonus.

Lately, as I've been surfing the web, I keep seeing insanely cheap miata's that are located in California and Florida. One I saw was a '94, with LSD, no damage, lots of extra work done, 115,000 miles for $3500. I really don't think I can afford to spend more than $4,000 on a new car, so this deal just blew me away.

I just never see any for sale within the tri-state area that fit my criteria or any that I can afford at all really. Am I crazy for considering flying to Florida or California (or anywhere for that matter) to get a good deal on a Miata?

I agree with you. I bought my turbo supra in omha,neb overall a good deal. I bought my turbo grand am just over the border from st paul,mn. In a small town in WI another good deal. Bought a really nice 96 roadmaster wagon in st cloud at a good price. Im happy with that.

Overall its a risk but the cars in town are crap. I bought a turbo grand prix in st paul. The dealer lied and I got my money back. You win some lose some.

I drove it home and I'm not leaking any fluids, but it just doesn't feel or sound right anymore. And its not something I can just "bend back out".
