Like I said don't care where I buy that I'll let the dealerships have a list of options and they can fight with each other on final cost of everything taxes, lice. what all not... I just don't want to end up getting stuck with shitty service but it sounds like both dealers in town are probably good... I know tjamz he's a cool headed guy but won't take shit from service, parts and such so I think i'm safe on gateway and haven't heard anything bad about corwin either...

thanks for the feed back guys and if any more on service/parts let me know... I haven't gotten to drive the toy yet but as of right now the nissan is much more impressive in price/bang little more HP and Torque 1 MPG less milage big whoop and consumer reports likes it better also.... styling inside is better I think this winter I'll be adding a frontier crew cab to my collection...

Maybe, maybe not...it could be that the only way they could sell the 350z for the price they had listed was to trade the 300zx at the price offered as well. By that I mean the 350 was maybe priced at a cash price and in order to stay at that price, they needed to lowball the trade.

And to say that it doesn't happen, well it happens all the time in every other sales position....trust me. If a customer is demanding a quote from me on a project I don't want to bid (for whatever reason) we come in at a much higher margin...sometimes they accept our bid regardless of that fact because we make a superior product than that our competitors in which case we of course meet the obligations set forth in the quote.

I understand that. But with that said if they low balled him on his trade due to the fact that the the 350 is priced at bottem dollar then its a fair deal. Its a numbers game, there is a program for everything. There is only so much flex with selling cars. I know that cause i run into it all the time too. As for projects on bids i understand the process my mother Architect she does the same thing, its all a numbers game.

You have to remember that they give you what they think you are willing to pay OR they may have low balled you thinking you weren't going to buy a 350z anyway so they were just telling you to leave.

I really wouldnt think that would be the case, thats not how we work at the dealership I work at, but they could be diff. If the low ball number is a way of shushing customers away thats not a great way to sell cars.

I went in this past fall and was just kinda looking for a car, and I saw something I liked and the salesman came right over and opened the car for me and offered to let me take it for a spin etc. Was really helpful with me there by myself, which I know it's harder to take a younger kid seriously, especially for a decently expensive car. My family has always had good experiences there too. Gateway Nissan-Hyundai kind of tried to take my sister and she ended up buying a car in Minneapolis. We flat out laughed at them when we left.
